Night, Foot, Ankle Splint

Using foot  splints can be a cost-effective and efficient way to treat many different foot conditions.

It is used in Achilles tendinitis, tendon fasciitis, pain caused by lameness, and bedridden patients to prevent foot drop and contracture.

Night splint, has long been used to treat plantar fasciitis. Several studies have investigated the effectiveness of the posterior dorsiflexion splint/night splint for the treatment of plantar fasciitis, however most of these studies have yielded mixed reviews.

The purpose of the splints is to keep the ankle in neutral position mostly during the night. Night splints differ from the SPS brace in that they are designed to place constant load on the tissues for an extended period of time using the creep concept. Splints worn at night keep the foot either in a neutral position or in 5º of dorsiflexion, which prevents chronic shortening of the fascia or the posterior leg muscles. Although the splints are frequently used for treatment of plantar fasciitis, most of the studies had high dropout rates and low compliance, possibly due to discomfort caused by the splint. Further, the literature is lacking evidence of superior benefits of the night splint compared to other conventional treatment measures.

Our splint is especially suitable for patients with stable ankle joint fracture, patients who do not need surgery, or early postoperative surgery to limit ankle joint activity.

The Night Splint is adjustable and is suitable for different sizes, low side design, easy to use and carry. It helps with all kinds of inflammation treatment, relieve pain and swelling, suitable for applying at no load or night time sleep or res. The foot and foot trauma are under light weight.

Our night splints also hold the foot in the “dorsiflexion” position, meaning the fascia is stretched out to help it from tensing up while you sleep. These splints relieve the  foot from that aching and spiking pain that first receive when waking up. It allows your foot to undergo as little stress possible and reduce inflammation.

Our unique Ankle and Foot Splints are particularly designed to:

  • Improve or prevent a physical deformity
  • Stabilize a joint or joints
  • Improve mobility or performance
  • Reduce pain
  • Reduce the risk of injury
  • They have been used for many years to help manage the gait (walking pattern) of children with hemiplegia.
  • They are used to reduce unwanted and uncontrolled movements associated with muscle imbalances, weakness or increased tone (tightness) in the lower leg and the foot and ankle.
  • They help stretch the plantar fascia with adjustable bilateral dorsiflexion straps.
  • Nighttime wear reduces the daytime pain associated with Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonitis and other foot and ankle conditions.

Abnormal movement in children with hemiplegia often means a tip-toe walking pattern (equines or plantar flexed gait) with the added complication of the ankle becoming twisted outwards (Varus ankle) or collapsing inwards (valgus ankle).
